Faerieworlds Summer 2009

We went to
***
FAERIEWORLDS
Summer 2009
*****
I think it is more fun than Disneyland!!
Isn't this Faerie Granny sweet!

It had to be well over 100* both days we went.
Holly and I bought parasols to help keep the sun off of us.

We saw lots of interesting characters

And booths to shop in.

Does this guy look like Liam Neeson
or is it just me??

If you are not familiar with Faerieworlds, it is a festival held several times a year. Usually in August and Jan. in Eugene, Oregon and also FaerieCon held in the
North Eastern U. S. in November.
You can learn all about it at their website here!

Awesome mask!

Aren't these two so cute!!
They were really nice too, as was everyone we met.

When she stood up, her hair went to the back of her knees!

Everyone definitely had their own style.

Hannah and Holly trying on hats.
I tell Hannah she is the redheaded-freckle face daughter I never had!

Jesse bought me an organic, gluten free lemon cupcake.
It was BLISS in a bite!
(This was my 1st day outfit)

Jesse was a pretty happy guy.
All he needed was SnowCones........

Bar-B-Q.........

And Babes!!

I think the kids all had a pretty great time!

I know I did!!
Can't wait till the

The Froud's Sculpting Workshop during Faerieworlds 2009

In late July 2009, we took a sculpting workshop
offered as part of the Faerieworlds Summer Festival
in Eugene, Oregon.
This is Holly & Hannah with the Frouds
Brian, Holly, Hannah, Wendy & Toby

The workshop was in a local hotel and there were
about a dozen of us.
Wendy lead us in a short meditation
and then we began sculpting!

We learned how to make a wire armature
and to cover it with foil and tape.

Then we covered it with a layer
of polymer clay.

We added the pieces to begin the facial features

All the while, the Frouds roamed the room
answering questions and giving encouragement.

Hannah & Holly well on their way.

Wendy giving Hannah some tips.

Brian giving some insight on the process.

Can you see the progress??
You don't want to see mine, heehee!

Nope, SOOoooo not mine!
Wendy's!!

Time for a lunch break!
Jesse met us for lunch. He was just hanging out
waiting for us.
Check out the view...The food was yummy.
This was the restaurant at the hotel.

Back to class and time to bake
our creations.
We were the slow-pokes.
Wendy was very patient with us!
******
(Thanks Wendy...We L*O*V*E You!)

We had to wait for them to cool down.

I was supposed to be working on adding the
details to mine, but it was fun to watch
Brian and Toby working on theirs!

Everyone was SO creative....
Here is Casi and her sculpture.

It was so fun to see how different they all were.

How cool is this guy??

I believe this is Ruth.
She had taken a workshop the previous day
with Elizabeth who makes the
precious baby faeries.

My hair looks just like his some mornings!

Hard at work.

Dancing Hands and her creation.

Dancing Hands daughter....
Her name is Hannah too!
Her sculpture had her laughing as she made it.
I am pretty sure she had a good time.
It was so fun to be in a room full of creativity!!

Just a few more details.....

Done??

Here is my sculpture...
I called her Willamena.
Her eyes are kinda bugged out....
I gotta work on that!

***The finished work***

Very cool!
The Froud's work

Hannah's, Holly's and mine

A happy student!

Hannah putting on the finishing touches.

Sherri and Kate taught a workshop
the previous day. I would love to take
their class too!
****
We will let you know when the workshops
are announced for the winter Faerieworlds.
We can't wait!!
